You can practice with MHY both in-person or online through live streamed (and recorded) class offerings.
This is a dynamic vinyasa (flow) practice. Each class will offer modifications for those new to yoga, as well as include various progressions and options within poses for those looking to try something new, play and explore. Expect chill tunes, a laugh or two and a laid-back, relaxed atmosphere combined with a mix of traditional sun salutations, postures to improve balance, strength and flexibility as well as build heat from within to purify the body. Each class will leave you feeling both energized and restored.
Yin yoga is the opposite of a fiery flow practice and it is the perfect complement to all the spice. Think dreamy, super chill yoga with relaxing tunes, candlelight and eucalyptus essential oils. Yin is simple, but challenging. It is more passive and embraces stillness and postures are held for longer periods of time. Yin targets our connective tissues – the fascia, ligaments, joints and bones. It is a beautiful, meditative and quiet practice.
This class covers an introduction to breath work as well as fundamental poses often practiced during a vinyasa (flow) sequence. Students are introduced to yoga postures through step-by-step verbal description and demonstration with frequent repetition as well as variations offered. Emphasis is placed on student understanding, safety, and stability within each pose. If you have never tried yoga this class is great for you and is designed to meet the needs of those new to the practice as well as those seeking continued understanding of basic yoga poses.
Classes are offered online in addition to in-person sessions. Students have the option to practice live via Zoom or avail of the recorded session which is emailed following class and available for 72 hours. This gives students the flexibility to practice live or whenever is most convenient for them and from the comfort of anywhere.
MHY offers private classes curated for your group or organization . If you have an upcoming event, special occasion or just want to get a bunch of pals together for some mindful movement in a cozy space, lets see what we can come up with. MHY has also hosted private sessions for sports teams, wellness retreats, a variety of conferences and for provincial & national associations. Private sessions are offered both in-person and online.
